War: What Is It Good For? Not Civilians, For Certain

So I was reading about the failed military rescue of a British Aid Worker.  Her family came out and thanked the military for trying and didn’t hold them accountable.  That was very kind of them, and very appropriate.

The problem was:  She was there to begin with.

We have this sense or idea that it’s ok for humanitarian workers, aid workers, contractors, media to be present and involved in a war zone.  Why?  Why does society think they have some need or right to be putting unarmed and untrained people into harm’s way?

The major burden for this is the amount of resources to protect or attempt rescue of these people.  The military has a war to fight.  Agree with the war or not – irrelevant.  Bottom line – we don’t have the time or resources to dedicate to rescuing civilians and providing security to people that just don’t need to be there.

Yes they do good work.  I am not downplaying the importance of that.  Wait until the war is over and go in and do your thing.

Foreign civilian of any type should NOT be in Afghanistan.  Period.

A Letter to a Senator

I wrote my Florida Senators regarding Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.   I am against repealing it.  I feel it is a fair compromise.  I don’t feel that open displays of immoral and unnatural behavior should be allowed.  The Constitution doesn’t offer anyone the right to serve, and it doesn’t afford military members total freedoms of speech and expression.  Also, gay personnel knew the rule when they VOLUNTEERED and they signed a contract.

Here is my letter:

Sir;

I sincerely appreciate and respect your speedy reply to me
on this issue.

I am disappointed that you support the
repeal.  I do not seeing this going well for the morale, unit
cohesion, or even the overall effectiveness of an all volunteer
force.  Perhaps a study of demographics in where most of your
volunteers come from is in order:  Southern, rural, Christian valued
members.

Are you willing to support a draft to fill the
ranks when the lack of volunteers causes a shortage in ranks?

Also, I would also like to respectfully point out that this isn't a
typical civil rights matter such as race or gender.  This is a matter
of people making decisions on how to act or behave.  Can a certain
percentage of homosexual people do the job?  Absolutely.  No
doubt or question in my mind.

Do we want pedophiles in our
ranks?  How about murderers and rapists?  We all hear the outcry
and demand for punishment/discharge when a member of the military is found
guilty of these offenses.  They made decisions.

Military
service cannot ever be considered a right for anybody.  The Air Force
is kicking able bodied people out of the service because of their waist
size.  We have members that lose their limbs fighting to stay in but
can't.

This is not a typical job.  We don't play
9-5 and go home every night of the year.  You have people that sleep
in crammed quarters, take showers in open bays, and get way too close for
the comfort of most Americans.  Remember, less than 1% of Americans
serve.  But it's most of those Americans that haven't that are
supporting this.

Fair?  Not likely.

For
instance sir, homosexual men find arousal by looking at the male
body.  I, as a heterosexual man, find arousal looking at the female
body.  So are we going to give homosexuals a "perk" by
saying it's ok for them to go into the showers and see what they
WANT...but I can't?

Fair?  Not likely.

Are you
willing to make the military co-ed?  Are you comfortable with men AND
women sharing quarters and showers?  I doubt many Americans are.

We want to use the excuse "Well they have done it in other
countries".  True.  However look at those other
countries.  They aren't as sexually repressed or restricted as we
are.  Do they have a UCMJ that makes adultery and sodomy (oral and
anal sex) offenses punishable by discharge?

And then you have
to look at marriage.  Has the Federal Government recognized unions
for homosexual couples?  Right now the DoD pays to move a member's
family to their new duty location.  Homosexuals do not currently have
that right, as most States don't recognize the Unions.  Are you
prepared to trample on State rights to force a recognitions so a
homosexual couple is treated "equally" with the benefits that
married couples get?

Military service is not guaranteed under
the Constitution for all people.  Stating that a policy is
unconstitutional for the military is also invalid, as a lot of my rights
to speech and expression are prohibited because of military image and
national security.  For example, if I were racist (and I truly
believe I am not), I cannot join and actively participate in the KKK or
other hate groups, nor can I distribute any propaganda supporting said
groups.  So long as the average American isn't being violent, they
are allowed to do so.  A military member knows and understands they
can not.  We also agreed to those prohibitions when we signed the
contract, just as homosexuals knew of DADT when they signed a contract.

Why is our country so against forcing people to uphold their end
of a legal contract?  It was no big secret what was required under
DADT.  I felt it a fair compromise.  I personally don't feel
anyone that participates in immoral or unnatural behavior should be fit
for volunteer service.   The image of the men and women that
protect our country needs to be pristine.  People doing indecent acts
with animals and children don't uphold that image, and honestly sir,
neither do people that engage in these acts with members of the same
gender.

Please consider this.

More to be Disgusted About – Wake up America

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/10/12/couple-arrested-abuse-child-mother-serving-afghanistan/?test=latestnews#content

Ok, let’s keep in mind that an investigation is “pending”.  Riiiight.  Abuse or neglect.  Either way it disgusts me, and it embarrasses me being in the Air Force that this keeps happening.

What angers me even more is this Ralph Monson jerk’s statement to the press.  So cold and heartless:  “As military members, our airmen understand that they can and will be called to serve in deployed locations around the globe at any time, leaving their family members behind in the care of a spouse, relative or other designated persons,” Monson said in a statement. “It is every airman’s responsibility to ease that strain by being as prepared as possible.”

Are kids just becoming toys for adults?  Just…things?  Really?  How can we really not care anymore?

Someone left a comment on that article saying we need to start hearing about punishments…so that’s what I am going to do.  I want people to email me about the punishments jerks like this receive.  If Fox and CNN and the networks don’t want to follow up on the stories…I WILL!  So when you hear that some random jerk got jail time or got left off for a crime…let me know.  It’s time we as Americans start seeing, AND DEMANDING, that justice is being done to the scum of the earth.

More Bullies in the News: This time it’s ADULTS!

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/10/12/wishers-send-donations-dying-girl-cyberbullied-neighbors/?test=latestnews#content

Wow.  I am seething with anger over this one.  An adult, married couple took out their frustrations with their elderly neighbor by doctoring photos of her dying 7-yr old granddaughter and posted them on Facebook.  Not enough?  They also painted their truck with taunts and even provided a coffin for their own sick, twisted way of retaliation.

And this country wants to sit back and allow this kind of behavior to continue?  It’s bad enough we have bully problems with children, but adults?

If you search it through Detroit’s FoxNews, you will see a video where they apologize.  Talk about the most unfelt and insincere apology I have ever heard.  It sound more like a little kid being told to apologize or they’ll get punished then an enlightened apology for realizing what they did was just sick and disgusting.  Hubby was suspended from his job.  Boss might want to make that permanant.  The only way to get these creeps away from that little girl is for the bank to foreclose.

There isn’t enough suffering in the creation of mankind for these degenerates.   I think I would feel a little bit of joy if they suffered some random accident that left them disfigured and/or crippled.  One can dream of such justice.

Freedoms of Speech/Expression/Press: Pick a side and stay on it

Time to fix that hole some of you cut in the fence.  You jump sides based on convenience and personal desires and all you are doing is showing your hypocrisy.  It’s time to pick a side and stay on it.

We have a group of people, we’ll call them Group A, that hates seeing the flag getting burned, hates the Westboro Baptist people for being allowed to protest at fallen soldiers’ funerals.  Group B will be the people that support this and hide behind the Constitution and says “who cares who it offends, it’s our right to do this”.

Now let’s take Quaran burning or drawing pictures of Mohammad.  Group A people SUPPORT these things, but Group B people are against it.  Media and journalist that are siding with Westboro and hoping the Supreme Court rules in their favor this month will, at the same time, refuse to print a satire cartoon that has the word “Mohammad” in it.

It’s hypocritical from BOTH sides, and it disgusts me greatly.

I am against any freedom that comes at the expense of someone else.  I think it should be against the law to burn the flag.  I think people that protest any fallen soldier should be put in a barn and beat repeatedly with a cattle prod.  Therefore, in order to be fair, I think that things like burning a Quaran or drawing Mohammad should also be off limits.

Maybe we can add a Constitutional amendment that requires Americans to be respectful towards each other and others.

Bullies Be Gone!

It’s time that we as Americans start to realize that WE AMERICANS have let our country sink.  It’s in the toilet folks, and it’s not even a floater.  We’re at the bottom, and we continually find ways to keep it there.  Morally, ethically, respectfully – we’re deficient.

We took religion out of schools because it taught only one religion with taxpayer dollars.  I am not AGAINST this.  What I am against is that we didn’t replace the good lessons taught through religion into another class.  We taught the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.  We took out the Commandments.  We took out teaching about consequences for your actions (ie: sins).  Kids have nothing to fear these days.  We use the threat of police and arrest to try…then we let them play video games like Grand Theft Auto.  Talk about your contradictions.

In Mentor, Oh..near my hometown of Cleveland, a recent article appeared nationwide about how one high school is dealing with three suicides and an overdose death (could be suicide but motive is unsure) because these four unfortunate kids were the victims of systematic, constant, consistent, and UNRESTRAINED bullying.

One word:  DISGUSTING!

How it got to that point is obvious…read my first paragraph.  We allow lazy parents to make the schools raise the children.  The same lazy and ignorant parents then took authority out of the hands of teachers.  THEN we allow teacher unions to dictate what they will and will not do.  Finally, the death blow:  We give kids the exact same freedoms and rights as adults under the Constitution.

We decide that you can die for your country at 18 yrs old but can’t drink until you are 21, yet we give kids the “rights to privacy” and “freedom of expression” when they can’t even vote?  There’s that major contradiction again.

Anyways, back to the point.  Let’s look at little Billy.  Billy is in the 2nd grade at a new school.  He’s nervous and scared as most kids are.  He wants to make friends.  Billy is a good kid but comes from a family that is typical middle-class, lives check to check, and can’t afford the brand names.  So Billy gets to school on his first day and a 5th grader sees him and decides he’s going to pick on him.  Billy walks by and the 5th grader knocks the books out of Billy’s arms.  “Pick them up loser”, says the fifth grader.  Billy decides to stand up for himself and either yells back or shoves the 5th grader.  A teacher sees this and gets involved, only to berate Billy for the confrontation.  Not being paid much and not really caring too much because she hates her job and most of the undisciplined, bratty kids…she doesn’t want to hear or concern herself with Billy’s side of the story.  Thus begins the lifestyle of being a victim.  Billy has now learned that standing up for yourself gets you in trouble.  Perhaps you want this scenario to end differently.  The teacher sees and hears the 5th grader knock the books and call him a loser.  The teacher says “Stop that” and continues on her business.  Billy sees that he’s not that important for better intervention and the bully, who tested a boundary and won, now feels empowered to test further boundaries.

And so it begins.  The victim doesn’t stand their ground anymore and are reclined to a life of “taking it”, “sucking it up”, and “dealing with it”.  The bullies are empowered with adult inaction and apathy and will push further, and harder.

It’s time parents take their kids cries for help seriously.  It’s time we empower the VICTIM.  It’s time we hold teachers and schools not only responsible but accountable.  It’s time we tell our kids, once again, that it’s ok to fight back…it’s ok to defend yourself, and it’s NEVER ok for anyone to torture you.  The United States signed a treaty and made it a law that we would take our nastiest, meanest enemies and treat them with respect and dignity.  It’s time we do that for our own.

I will speak more on this later.  Let this stew and stir with you.  Let’s slap America across the face and wake it the ‘f’ up.
